Passport Requirement

As of 2019, yes, you must have a valid and unexpired passport in order to participate in the Green Card Lottery.

Only the primary applicant must have a passport. Spouses and children are not required to have passports.

You may still be able to participate even if you do not have a passport. Certain exceptions do exist and additional information about passport requirements is available.
