Do I Need New Photos Each Time I Apply?

Yes! Remember to update your photo(s) every year.

An important and necessary condition of the annual Green Card Lottery program is the photograph requirement. A picture for each family member must be added to the application form. Application forms without pictures cannot be processed.

The U.S. State Department advises that the photos you upload must be recent and not older than six months. In other words, all photos must have been taken within the last six months, but the more recent they are the better.

If you have previously signed up for the Green Card Lottery and have uploaded picture(s) to your account, please remember that all photos must be updated when you renew your registration for the next program.

New photos can be uploaded directly to your account or can be emailed to us with your Username or Application ID number.
