The U.S. Department of State has officially released the results for the Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery 2026, also known as the Green Card Lottery. Beginning May 3, 2025, all applicants who entered the program during the 2024 registration period, which ended in November 2024, can now check their status online through the Entrant Status Check portal at dvprogram.state.gov.
Applicants must enter their confirmation number, last name, and year of birth to access their individual results. No email or postal notifications will be sent—the official website is the only way to find out if you were selected.
Those selected for the DV-2026 program must act quickly. Selection does not guarantee a green card—applicants must complete additional steps including:
Visa interviews will begin as early as October 2025, and all steps must be completed before the end of the fiscal year, which is September 30, 2026. Failure to act in time may result in disqualification, even if selected.
If you were not selected, you still have another chance. The DV-2027 program will open for new applications in 2025. Experts strongly recommend preparing your documents and photos early and ensuring your submission is 100% complete to avoid disqualification.
The Diversity Visa Program offers up to 55,000 permanent resident visas each year to individuals from countries with historically low rates of U.S. immigration. For many, it is the only legal path to a U.S. green card.
Applicants who have not yet completed their current entry—due to missing fees or photos—should act now before the registration closes for calendar year 2025. Immigration specialists are encouraging qualified individuals to finish their applications while there is still time.
